Mother daughter design team Najla Burt and Cynthia Burt are DUR DOUX the luxury fashion brand. Cynthia runs the brand operations, while Najla is the brands Creative Director. However, they jointly develop and produce the exclusive brand designs. Their corporate/operating hub is located in a high end chic Studio/Showroom located at The Wharf Waterfront – 800 Maine Avenue SW DC. Najla Burt graduated from Parsons New School for Design NY and interned with world famous designer Alexander Wang. The brand has shown collections at New York Fashion Week, Pure London-Oxford United Kingdom, Macy's Red Dress NYFW Fashion Show, DC Fashion Week ‘Hall of Fame” Honoree, Graduate of DC Fashion Foundation Incubator, DCSwimWeek, and Fashion Night Ignites – ‘International Diplomacy Meets Fashion’. Dur Doux frequently dresses a number of DC high-end fashion influencers including celebrity influencer @anchyiwei (wife of the Editor of Capitol File Magazine). Their designs have been seen in The Washington Post, Diplomat, Size Overrated Magazine, Elle UK, Vogue UK. In April this year, The Burts inked a deal to host a new fashion reality show, featuring the Dur Doux luxury brand aptly titled Designing Burts DC. The show is scheduled for global release in 2020 on the new Akyumen Entertainment Network. Filming will take place in DC and New York first season, and follow the Burts work as International designers.
